Time Runs out (Free Poem)

TIME RUNS OUT

Time Runs Out

You've become so insincere
And I've been so lonely here
I find myself choking on words
When I have nothing to say

My heart;
You rest like an anchor
You weigh me down
And I drown
In your sea

I feel these memories
In my mind they're haunting me
But you're unafraid, unaffected
How have we gone so wrong

As the sunsets in the sky
I walk the streets, compromised
Counting steps, holding breath
And holding on til the end

From outside, its you I see
You saying words that once belonged to me
Sharing space with a face
For it could never be

I'd speak
Buy you'd kill the messenger
You were so lost in the blur
You couldn't even see
You meant everything to me

Abondoned empty and left drifting out at sea
Tethered to the thought of you, as you're disappearing

There's an image I'm seeing
But the colours are bleeding
Control yourself, and keep it that way
Protect your secrets
Cherish past love, with regret
We can't protect ourselves from ourselves

From outside, its you I see
You saying words that once belonged to me
Sharing space with a face
For it could never be

The weight of my words
Could once move your heaven and earth
But now they don't do a thing

Abondoned empty and left drifting out at sea
Tethered to the thought of you, as you're disappearing

You've become to insincere
And I've been so lonely here

I had to run and hide
To catch my breath
Why don't you come inside
And catch your breath

Time runs
Time runs
Time runs
Time runs out.
